CHILDHOOD WELL CHILD VISITS AND IMMUNIZATION SCHEDULE

According to Guidelines and Recommendations from the American Academy of Pediatrics

(Immunizations are shown in RED)

HepB=Hepatitis B   DTaP= Diphtheria,Tetanus and Pertussis   HIB=Hemophilus Influenza B    IPV=Inactivated Polio      MMR=Measles, Mumps and Rubella   Varicella=Chicken Pox    Pneumo=Pneumococcal Vaccine   Rotavirus=Rotavirus Vaccination  The HPV= "I just didn't like the shot" HPV,Gardenella or cancer screening shot

PEDIARIX is one shot containing DTaP, Hep B and IPV

COMVAX is one shot containing HIB and Hep B


2 WEEKS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening, 2nd  newborn screen, Hepatitis #1,

1 MONTH

Well Child Examination, Developmental Screening

2 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening DTaP, IPV, Hep B,  HIB,  Pneumo, Rotavirus#1

4 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening DTaP#2, IPV#2,  HIB#2 , Pneumo#2, Rotavirus#2

6 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening DTaP#3, HIB #3, Pneumo #3,Rotavirus#3

9 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening HepB #3

12 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening, HCT Anemia screening, MMR#1, Varicella

15 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening,  HIB#4,Pneumo#4

18 MONTHS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening DTaP#4

2 YEARS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening,

3 YEARS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening

4 YEARS

Well Child Examination, Development Screening

5 YEARS(KG)

Well Child Examination, Development Screening, HCT (anemia screen) and Urinalysis, eye screening, DTaP#5, MMR#2, IPV#4, Varicella

6-11 YEARS (GRADESCHOOL)

Yearly Physical Examinations; Growth Measurements; Urinalysis, eye screening

12-18 YEARS (JR AND SR HIGH)

Yearly Physical Examinations; Growth Measurements; SPORTS PARTICIPATION EXAMS  Scoliosis Screening done at (Included testicular exams for boys and Breast Exams for girls) Urinalysis, eye screening,  Tetanus update/Pertussis shot (sometimes earlier shots not previously given are updated at these yearly visits) done at 7th grade visit. The new Meningococcal meningitis shot is currently recommended for entering 7th grade. The Cervical Cancer shot, HPV is a three shot series offered to Junior High female students


Keep in mind immunizations NOT done at earlier ages may be "caught up" at later Well Child Visits and immunizations may also be caught up at other visits if needed and if time permits in the office schedule.
