   Wellness Visits

All of our Examination rooms carry different themes. Our "Red" exam room features characters from a host of Disney animation films.

Well Child Care at Laramie Pediatrics, pc

Infants are given Well Child Exams and any needed vaccinations on scheduled visits. Special times during each day are set aside for infant Well Child Exams so there is not a mixture of well and sick infants together in the reception room.

Physicals for toddlers, school aged children and teenagers are scheduled throughout the day to allow the best time for them to be seen. We offer all the standard vaccinations recommended by the State of Wyoming, so you can get them at the same time as the exam.

• Age Appropriate Immunizations

One of our examination rooms is the "Bear" room where Teddy Bears of all shapes and sizes are on display for children to see.

 "Extra" Specialized Well Child Care

Dr. Kleppinger devoted extra time in training to Child Development and Adolescent Medicine to help parents and children better understand the changes they experience with growing up. Marci Newell, FNP, has specifically trained with Dr. Kleppinger in areas of Development to help guide parents in their children's growth. Together they team up to support all areas of developmental concerns throughout childhood and Adolescence.

 

Infant Growth and development

We help parents understand this rapidly changing age group where all the fundamentals of learning appear. During these visits Physical growth is assessed with Growth Curves and nutrition is assessed to ensure the infants are not just "getting by" but thriving. We review expected changed in Language, Fine Motor Skills and Coordination to make sure infants are at their best.

 

Toddlers and Preschoolers

As Infants grow into Toddlers, we help families understand the complex behaviors and development that make up this age group. This is an age of transitions and we help families keep up with these important changes. During these visits, Physical growth is assessed. Nutrition and activities are checked to make sure the growth targets are being achieved. We evaluate the development of Language, Social Skills, Pre-academic Learning, Fine Motor Skills and Coordination Skills to help get these toddlers ready for school.

 

School Age Children (K through 6th grade)

More than getting children immunized for Kindergarten, we check yearly to make sure vital areas of growth are being achieved. Physical growth, Academic Learning, Social Development, Nutrition, Language, Coordination are all assessed to make sure these children are reaching their maximal potential.

 

 

 

 

 

Our office caters especially to teenagers with two examination rooms designed especially for teens.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Adolescents (7th grade through College)

 Teenagers are at a rapid time of change in every way. Changing from children into adults is a difficult task, and we're committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. Yearly Visits include checks of Physical Growth and Nutritional needs, assessing School Performance, Social Development and Peer Group relationships and Sports Qualifications.

As part of Adolescent Physicals, we educate patients on Physical/Sexual maturation issues (teaching Breast Self Exams for girls/Testicular Cancer Screening for boys), and educate them about high risk behaviors (tobacco, alcohol, drug use, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Pregnancy Prevention).

In all wellness visits from Newborns to College Entrance Physicals, we check and update immunizations according to guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics, the Center for Disease Control and the State of Wyoming Vaccination Program.
